Christoph Edelbauer lives and loves wine: “I love to live with and from nature as a vintner. Developing the feeling for healthy plants, attending to vines and passing on the outcome of a year in the form of a grape into a glass of wine – this is my motivation.”

The size and structure of the winery allows Christoph Edelbauer to look after each step of the cultivation process. It’s therefore no wonder that each grape gets harvested by hand. “Furthermore, the winery was built under great consideration of sustainability aspects,” explains Edelbauer.

As the vineyards can be found in different locations, with varying soil conditions and microclimates, each wine has its very own character. The Edelbauer winery’s portfolio consists of the Zweigelt, the Grüner Veltliner and the Riesling, for example. “However, my real passion is the Pinot Noir. It is perfect for this region,” smiles Edelbauer.

Christoph Edelbauer liebt und lebt Wein: „Ich liebe es als Winzer mit und von der Natur zu leben. Das Gefühl für gesunde Planzen zu entwickeln, einen Weinstock zu begleiten und das Resultat eines Jahreslaufes, das in der Traube eingefangen ist, in ein Glas Wein weiterzugeben – das ist meine Motivation.“

Die Größe und Struktur des Gutes ist so konzipiert, dass jeder Schritt der Bewirtschaftung von Christoph Edelbauer selbst betreut werden kann. Dass jede Traube von Hand gelesen wird ist daher kein Wunder. „Das Weingut ist außerdem unter starker Berücksichtigung von Nachhaltigkeits-Aspekten erbaut“, erklärt Edelbauer.

Da die Weingärten auf verschiedenen Einzellagen mit unterschiedlichen Bodenbedingungen und Mikroklimata zu finden sind, hat jeder Wein einen ganz eigenen Charakter. Im Sortiment sind zum Beispiel der Zweigelt, der Grüne Veltliner oder der Riesling. „Mein echtes Herzblut gehört aber dem Pinot Noir. Er passt perfekt in diese Region“, lächelt Edelbauer.
