As an Austrian pioneer of wedding planning, Elisabeth Brandl has been crafting unforgettable weddings with expertise and a keen eye for detail since 2007 – each one as unique as the couple at its heart.

Nearly 20 years ago, Elisabeth Brandl sought a career change after her time in event management but didn’t really have an idea what that could look like – until a chance encounter in Tuscany with an American wedding planner transformed her path. This planner had turned an old farmhouse into an elegant wedding venue. “The blend of music, fragrances, colours and emotions was simply WOW!” Brandl recalls. “Within seconds, I made my decision: I want to do that.”

When Brandl founded Wedding-Vienna in 2007, the job of wedding planner was virtually unheard of in Austria. “Together with a small group of colleagues, we paved the way,” she explains. “Initially, most of my clients were international couples choosing Vienna for their big day. Communication was limited to phone calls and emails, and I usually met the couples for the first time just before their wedding. The trust they placed in me inspired me even further to help them navigate this special time with joy and calm.”

Trust, reliability and a good sense of humour, remain the cornerstones of her work, complemented by experience, expertise and lifestyle. “Whether in Vienna or abroad, every wedding is unique,” Brandl says. “Sometimes there are 400 guests; other times, it’s just the two of them. Couples who choose me as their wedding planner embrace a process that allows ideas and possibilities to evolve.”

“I love guiding my clients out of their everyday lives and into their wedding dreams, watching their excitement grow. It’s a real privilege,” Brandl says. “For some couples, it’s a quiet affair; for others, the wildest party of their lives. I can do both. That same passion also drives my work as an officiant and designer of bespoke ceremonies – a service I’ve offered for several years.”

Wedding-Vienna caters to couples seeking something truly special – often international or same-sex, or both – always with the aim of turning their vision into an unforgettable experience. A wedding city in any season, Vienna itself plays a central role.

In addition to planning weddings, Brandl shares her expertise as an Austrian Wedding Professional with Gold Status and as the national spokesperson for Austria’s wedding planners. She also teaches diploma courses for wedding planners and celebrants.

Die Pionierin der Hochzeitsplanung

Als österreichische Pionierin in Sachen Wedding Planning, gestaltet Elisabeth Brandl mit viel Erfahrung und Feingefühl seit 2007 unvergessliche Hochzeiten, die so einzigartig sind wie die Paare selbst.

Vor fast 20 Jahren wollte Elisabeth Brandl nach ihrer Karriere im Event-Management eine neue berufliche Richtung einschlagen, wusste aber nicht, wohin die Reise gehen sollte – bis sie in der Toskana eine amerikanische Wedding Plannerin traf, die ein altes Bauerngehöft in eine stilvolle Hochzeitslocation verwandelte. „Was sich da alles an Musik, Düften, Farben und Sinneseindrücken aufgetan hat, war einfach nur WOW!“ erinnert sie sich. „Innerhalb von Sekunden war klar: Das will ich auch machen.“

Als Brandl 2007 Wedding-Vienna gründete, war Wedding Planning in Österreich nahezu unbekannt. „Ich durfte, gemeinsam mit einer Handvoll Kolleginnen, das Terrain dafür bereiten. Es waren in erster Linie ausländische Paare, die mich für ihre Hochzeit in Wien engagierten. Telefon und Mail waren unsere einzigen Verständigungsmittel und die meisten Paare habe ich erst kurz vor ihrer Hochzeit das erste Mal gesehen. So viel Vertrauen hat mir den Ansporn gegeben, die Menschen in dieser besonderen Zeit der Vorbereitung so entspannt und freudig zu diesem einmaligen Fest zu begleiten.“

Vertrauen, Verlässlichkeit und eine gute Portion Humor, sind bis heute die Basis ihrer Arbeit. Ergänzt wird dies durch Erfahrung, Know-how und Lifestyle: „Ob in Wien oder im Ausland, jede Hochzeit sieht anders aus. Mal sind es 400 Gäste. Dann wieder nur ‚Just the two of us‘. Ein Paar, das sich für mich als Wedding-Planner entscheidet, lässt sich auf einen Prozess ein, der wachsen darf und der Raum für Ideen und Möglichkeiten bietet.“

„Ich liebe es, meine Kunden zu verführen. Raus aus ihrem Alltag und rein in ihre Hochzeit. Dabei zu merken, wie sehr ihre Freude auf das Fest wächst. Das ist ein Privileg für mich“, so Brandl. „Für manche ist das Fest würdevoll und still – für manche die wildeste Party ihres Lebens. Ich kann beides. Daraus resultiert auch meine Passion als Gestalterin und Rednerin bei freien Trauungszeremonien, die ich seit einigen Jahren ebenfalls anbiete.“

Wedding-Vienna spricht Paare an, die das Besondere suchen – oft international oder gleichgeschlechtlich, oder beides, und immer mit dem Anspruch, ihre Visionen in einer unvergesslichen Kulisse umzusetzen. Wien spielt dabei eine zentrale Rolle, denn sie ist in jeder Saison eine Hochzeitsstadt.

Neben der Planung teilt Brandl als „Austrian Wedding Professional“ mit Gold Status und als Bundessprecherin der Wedding-Planner Österreichs ihr Wissen in Diplomlehrgängen für Wedding-Planner und freie Trauredner.
