The VILLA HUNDERT Boutique Mountainscape is a passion project of two Northerners that know how to combine unique palatal delights with an immediate slowdown effect in the Swiss mountains.

Picturesquely located on the southern slope above Engelberg, the hotel combines luxury with a creative and down-to-earth quality. Co-host Christian Brangenfeldt formulates: “Luxury can be bought, but personality and passion are truth. We believe that our guests can feel this the moment they step into the Villa. It is truly a holistic experience that goes through the food, interior, ambiance, hospitality, smell and feel.”

Christian Brangenfeldt and John Jezewski, who met while working together at a Stockholm restaurant, were initially looking for a smallish place to realize their vision of bringing people together through authentic experiences, food and wine. Instead, they found their base in the Swiss Alpine town of Engelberg, where their ideas merged with the vision of Canadian CEO Anna Lisa Braun. Not long after, the three of them opened the doors to VILLA HUNDERT.

“When you arrive at the Villa, you should feel curious and full of anticipation,” Brangenfeldt explains, “but you are also welcome to feel tired of the highway-life you normally lead. Maybe it’s then that the Villa comes to its full power.” The surroundings and the hotel atmosphere relax and inspire, heal and allure at the same time: “It takes you on a journey. Draws you out to nature, puts you on a bench where dormant thoughts are re-awakened and ideas can start sprouting.”

The food is equally inspiring and consists of an ever-changing 4-course plus menu created from locally sourced and self-foraged produce. The wine is expressive and tasty – true to its terroir. Typically, guests come to flee city life for a night or the weekend by embarking on the VILLA HUNDERT experience topped by a relaxed evening: “We are currently building a small wellness area. A place to unwind after a day on the slopes or in the forest. In addition, we are very much looking forward to expanding our herb garden and making our terrace with its astonishing view even more inviting for the summer.”

Meanwhile, art and music will play an even bigger part at the Villa. “We believe that we have the best guests in the world, it is remarkable how many lovely people pass through the door! And we are wishing for the VILLA HUNDERT to keep inspiring and spreading joy.”

VILLA HUNDERT: Freude, Erholung und Kreative Küche

Die VILLA HUNDERT Boutique Mountainscape ist das Passion Project zweier Nordländer, die es verstehen, einzigartige Gaumenfreuden mit einem sofortigen Entschleunigungseffekt inmitten der Schweizer Alpen zu vereinen.

Malerisch am Südhang oberhalb von Engelberg gelegen, verbindet das Hotel Kreativität und Bodenständigkeit mit subtilem Luxus. Co-Gastgeber Christian Brangenfeldt formuliert: „Luxus kann man kaufen, aber Persönlichkeit und Leidenschaft sind die Wahrheit. Christian Brangenfeldt und John Jezewski lernten sich bei der Arbeit in einem Stockholmer Restaurant kennen. Sie suchten zunächst nach einem kleinen Gasthof, um ihre gemeinsame Vision zu verwirklichen, Menschen durch authentische Erlebnisse, Essen und Wein zusammenzubringen. Stattdessen fanden sie ihre neue Basis in der Alpenstadt Engelberg, wo ihre Ideen mit denen der kanadischen CEO Anna Lisa Braun perfekt verschmolzen: Kurz darauf öffneten die drei gemeinsam die Türen der VILLA HUNDERT.

„Wenn Sie in der Villa ankommen, sollten Sie neugierig und voller Vorfreude sein“, erklärt Brangenfeldt, “aber Sie dürfen auch gerne müde sein von dem Leben auf der Überholspur, das Sie normalerweise führen. Vielleicht entfaltet die Villa erst dann ihre volle Kraft“. Umgebung und Atmosphäre des Hotels entspannen und inspirieren zugleich: „Es nimmt Sie mit auf eine Reise, zieht Sie hinaus in die Natur und setzt Sie auf eine Bank, wo schlummernde Gedanken geweckt werden und neue Ideen sprießen können.“

Der tägliche Gaumenschmaus besteht aus einem stetig wechselnden 4-Gänge-Plus-Menü, zubereitet aus lokal bezogenen und selbst gesammelten Produkten. Auch der Wein ist seinem Terroir entsprechend ausdrucksstark und schmackhaft. Typischerweise kommen die Gäste, um dem Stadtleben für eine Nacht oder ein Wochenende zu entfliehen, indem sie sich auf das Erlebnis VILLA HUNDERT einlassen – gekrönt von entspannten Abenden am Feuer und mehr: „Wir sind gerade dabei, zusätzlich einen kleinen Wellnessbereich in der Villa einzurichten: Ein Ort zum Entspannen nach einem Tag auf der Piste oder im Wald. Außerdem freuen wir uns sehr darauf, unseren Kräutergarten zu erweitern und unsere Terrasse mit ihrem herrlichen Ausblick für den Sommer noch einladender zu gestalten.“

Auch Kunst und Musik werden in der Villa fortan eine größere Rolle spielen. „Wir glauben, dass wir die besten Gäste der Welt haben! Es ist bemerkenswert, wie viele liebe Menschen durch diese Tür treten und wir wünschen uns, dass die VILLA HUNDERT weiterhin inspiriert und Freude verbreitet.“
