Despite being more than 200 years old, Mozart’s music is as alive as ever. The Mozartfest Würzburg is a reminder of the composer’s brilliance. Although Mozart ranks as one of the most played composers of all time, it is still a special treat to hear his music at the Würzburg festival. Every year around 25,000 people enjoy symphony concerts in the Imperial Hall and serenades in the Court Gardens. Mozart himself only visited the town once and in September 1790 he wrote a letter to his wife calling it a “beautiful, magnificent city”. The month of June is nowadays completely dedicated to the composer and his legendary compositions.
