The Kulturama Museum of Human Evolution captivates visitors by bringing the development of mankind to life. It offers an exciting experience for both young and old, staying true to its motto: “A museum all about you.”

Founded in 1978 by Paul Muggler, a visionary in museum education, and led by Dr Claudia Rütsche since 1996, Kulturama combines the fascination of human evolution with interactive learning experiences across the fields of evolutionary history, cultural history and human biology.

Exhibitions like ‘Where We Come From’ and ‘Who We Are’ enchant visitors by illustrating the evolution of life and the human life cycle through fossils, skeletons, and models. The exhibition ‘How We Learn’ turns especially interactive, allowing visitors to directly experience the workings of human learning and memory.

Kulturama appeals to a wide audience, from families to adults and school classes. Participants are actively involved in tours and workshops, experience content hands-on, and are encouraged to leave their own thoughts on the subjects. Content-wise, the focus is on the human being, with biology and history at the heart of the five exhibition areas. A range of different events complement the program. Guides/handouts are also available in English, French and Italian.

Wo die Evolution des Menschen erlebbar wird

Das Kulturama Museum des Menschen bringt Besuchende zum Staunen und macht die menschliche Entwicklung erlebbar. Es bietet ein spannendes Erlebnis für Groß und Klein, getreu seinem Motto: „Ein Museum nur über dich“.

Im Jahr 1978 von Paul Muggler, einem Visionär der Museumspädagogik, gegründet und seit 1996 unter der Leitung von Dr. Claudia Rütsche, vereint das Kulturama die Faszination für die menschliche Entwicklung mit interaktiven Lernerlebnissen in den Bereichen Evolution, Kulturgeschichte und Humanbiologie.

Ausstellungen wie ‚Woher wir kommen‘ und ‚Wer wir sind‘ faszinieren durch die Veranschaulichung der Evolution des Lebens und des menschlichen Lebenszyklus anhand von Fossilien, Skeletten und Modellen. Besonders interaktiv wird es in der Ausstellung ‚Wie wir lernen‘, wo man die Funktionsweise des menschlichen Lernens und Gedächtnisses direkt erleben kann.

Das Kulturama richtet sich an ein breites Publikum von Familien über Erwachsene bis Schulklassen. Die Besuchenden werden in Führungen und Workshops aktiv involviert, erfahren Inhalte sinnlich an Hands-on-Stationen und können eigene Gedanken zum Thema hinterlassen. Auch inhaltlich steht der Mensch mit seiner Biologie und Geschichte im Mittelpunkt der insgesamt fünf Ausstellungsbereiche. Abwechslungsreiche Veranstaltungen ergänzen das Angebot. Guides/Handouts gibt es übrigens auch auf Englisch, Französisch und Italienisch.
