The Jams Music Hotel is Munich’s first music-themed hotel where everything is centred around vinyl. Hotel guests can choose from over 250 records to play in their room. An atmospheric retro interior, bar and restaurant – both open to the public – completes the unique concept.

“When I bought the building I already knew that I did not want to do the usual design hotel,” says founder Alexander Kaufmann. Finally, the location determined the concept: the hotel lies near the old town centre in the popular French quarter Haidhausen, next to the Philharmonie. The Muffatwerk, a concert hall, and the well-known Blitz nightclub, are just around the corner. Jazz-lovers, meanwhile, can find the perfect spot for them in the nearby Jazzclub Unterfahrt.

“I always had great love for music and with great interest watched the rediscovery of vinyl,” Kaufmann tells. Vinyl is sensual and therefore something special. And this spirit is reflected in the Jams Hotel. The bar mainly plays the sounds of the 1970s, and artists perform regularly here.

Even though music is everywhere, guests can expect a quiet sleep. “Our guests are amazed by our quality beds, pillows and blankets,” says Alexander Kaufmann. The hotel offers all the comforts of a design hotel – with a special touch for music lovers.

Retro, Vinyl und Design vereint im Herzen von München

 
Das Jams Music Hotel ist das erste Musikhotel Münchens, in dem sich alles um das Thema Vinyl dreht: Hotelgäste können hier aus über 250 Schallplatten auswählen und diese auf einem Plattenspieler in ihrem Zimmer abspielen. Ein stimmungsvolles Retro-Interieur, Bar und Restaurant – offen für jedermann – runden das Konzept ab.

„Als ich das Gebäude kaufte, wusste ich bereits, dass ich daraus nicht das typische Designhotel machen wollte“, sagt Gründer Alexander Kaufmann. Letztlich entschied der Standort das Konzept: Das Hotel liegt nahe der Altstadt im beliebten Franzosenviertel Haidhausen, neben der Münchner Philharmonie und auch das Muffatwerk, eine Konzerthalle, und der angesagte Blitz Nachtclub sind in unmittelbarer Umgebung. Jazz-Liebhaber kommen im benachbarten Jazzclub Unterfahrt auf ihre Kosten.

„Ich selbst hatte immer eine große Liebe zur Musik und habe mit Interesse die Rückentwicklung zu Vinyl beobachtet“, erzählt Kaufmann. Schallplatten sind sinnlich und etwas Besonders. Und genau dieser Geist spiegelt sich auch im Jams Hotel. Die Bar spielt vor allem den Sound der 1970er, zudem treten regelmäßig Künstler auf.

Obwohl Musik allgegenwärtig ist, erwartet Gäste ein ruhiger Schlaf. „Unsere Gäste sind begeistert von unseren hochwertigen Betten, Kissen und Decken“, sagt Alexander Kaufmann. So bietet das Hotel allen Komfort eines Design-Hotels – mit dem gewissen Extra für Musikliebhaber.
