A restaurant with heart and soul in the centre of Basel: The restaurant Hasenburg, also called ‘Château Lapin’ in French, convinces with straightforward cooking and seasonal dishes. The Hasenburg is one of the last independent traditional Beizen, typical inns, in the Basel area and is especially very popular during the Basel carnival.“Our main specialities are beef and calf’s liver with rösti, as well as various rösti dishes,” says Daniel Rieder, who has run the Hasenburg together with his wife Irma Rieder since November 2015. But his connection to the Hasenburg goes further back: “I have spent my childhood in the Hasenburg, because my parents owned the restaurant for three decades,” explains Rieder.
