Chaplin’s World near Geneva is the only museum in the world dedicated to Charlie Chaplin. Visitors can explore, amongst other things, the beautiful mansion that Chaplin lived in for 25 years and step into a Hollywood-style studio. But it is not only a grand immersive museum experience that awaits visitors, it is also a fabulous and truly unique event location.

Chaplin’s World is like a time capsule of past glamour, of the beginnings of cinema and of Charlie Chaplin’s life. It has just received the Best Museum in Europe 2018 award by the European Museum Academy – and rightly so.

The museum offers three landmark spaces with event possibilities of any size. The first is the historical Manoir de Ban, where the Chaplin family lived, and a very intimate side of the artist is presented. Here are two event locations, perfect for gala dinners, red carpet events or private celebrations.

The studio, with its Hollywood flair, shows Chaplin as the great showman he was. As a venue, this includes a working cinema, ‘easy street’, a circus set and the Hollywood Boulevard. It cannot get more unique than that. Last but not least, there is the restaurant ‘The Tramp’, featuring authentic period-style décor.

But as Chaplin once said: “Imagination means nothing without doing.” So, you simply have to visit this wonderful place yourself.

Chaplin’s World in der Nähe von Genf ist das einzige Museum, das voll und ganz Charlie Chaplin gewidmet ist. Gäste können das wunderschöne Herrenhaus, in welchem Chaplin 25 Jahre lang lebte, erkunden und ein altes Hollywood-Studio besuchen. Chaplin’s World ist wie eine Zeitmaschine zu vergangenem Glamour, zu den Anfängen des Films und zu Charlie Chaplins Leben. Es hat gerade den Preis ‚Bestes Museum in Europa 2018‘ von der Europäischen Museums-Akademie bekommen – zurecht.

Das Museum hat drei Hauptbereiche mit Event-Möglichkeiten für jede Größenordnung. Zunächst ist da das historische Manoir de Ban, in dem die Familie Chaplin lebte, und das eine sehr private Seite des Künstlers zeigt. Hier gibt es zwei Event-Locations: perfekt für Gala-Dinners, Events mit rotem Teppich und private Feiern.

Das Hollywood-Studio hingegen zeigt Chaplin als den großen Showman, der er war. Zu dieser Event-Location gehören ein Kino, die Easy Street, Zirkus-Set und der Hollywood-Boulevard. Einzigartiger geht es nicht. Last but not least gibt es noch das Restaurant ‚The Tramp‘ in historischem Dekor.

Aber wie Chaplin selbst einmal sagte: „Die Vorstellungskraft ist nichts ohne das Tun.“ Man muss diesen wunderbaren Ort also einfach selbst erkunden.
