That’s the title of the latest bike movie by Tom Oehler. The Red Bull athlete and two-time world record holder is the new bike ambassador for the destination Davos Klosters. In Bike Hard, he shows how playfully one can tackle single trails with the appropriate riding technique.

“Hey Tom. Are you ready for 700 kilometres of single trails? Well, then yippee-ki-yay…!”, a familiar Hollywood voice thunders from the speakers at the start of the film Bike Hard. Challenge accepted. In the next three minutes, Tom Oehler shows his full skill on the bike: Wheelies and manuals on a blocked trail, without losing flow, a speedy bunny-hop over the trailgate, or daring jumps over rocks. One thing is clear: The single trails in Davos Klosters have never been ridden so playfully.

The film title is, of course, a reference to the Hollywood blockbuster series Die Hard. It features the same dubbing voice as in the cult film. “We are competing with destinations in the Alps, which have significantly larger marketing budgets. In order to gain attention in this context, you need to be creative,“ Samuel Rosenast, Head of Communication for Davos Klosters, says. The dubbing voice belongs to Manfred Lehmann, who has already dubbed numerous film stars such as Bruce Willis or Gérard Depardieu.

But not only does the voice sound familiar: If you look closely, you can also recognise top athletes from Davos Klosters in supporting roles. For example, Tom Oehler runs into the downhill ski world champion Jasmine Flury along the way and elegantly opens a beer with the rear wheel for her as he passes by. True to the claim ‘sports unlimited’ of the destination Davos Klosters.

Großes Kino: Bike Hard

So lautet der neueste Bike-Film von Tom Oehler. Der Red Bull-Athlet und zweifacher Weltrekordhalter ist der neue Bike-Botschafter der Destination Davos Klosters. Er zeigt in Bike Hard, wie verspielt man mit der entsprechenden Fahrtechnik Singletrails hämmern kann.

„Hey Tom. Bist du bereit für 700 Kilometer Singletrails? Na, dann Yippie-Ya-Yay, Schweinebacke!“, dröhnt eine bekannte Hollywood-Stimme aus den Lautsprecherboxen zu Beginn des Films Bike Hard. Herausforderung angenommen. In den nächsten drei Minuten zeigt Tom Oehler sein ganzes Können auf dem Bike: Wheelies und Manuals auf einem verblockten Trail, ohne dabei Flow zu verlieren, ein rasanter Bunny-Hop übers Trailgate oder mutige Sprünge über Felsen. Eines ist klar: So verspielt sind die Singletrails in Davos Klosters wohl noch nie gefahren worden.

Der Filmtitel ist eine Anspielung auf die Hollywood-Blockbuster-Reihe Stirb langsam, die auf Englisch unter dem Titel Die Hard bekannt wurde. Und dies mit der gleichen Synchronsprecherstimme wie im Kultfilm. „Wir konkurrieren mit Destinationen im Alpenraum, die über erheblich größere Werbebudgets verfügen. Um sich da Aufmerksamkeit zu verschaffen, sind kreative Ansätze gefragt“, sagt Samuel Rosenast, Leiter Kommunikation bei der Destination Davos Klosters. Die Stimme gehört Synchronsprecher Manfred Lehmann, der schon zahlreiche Filmstars wie Bruce Willis oder Gérard Depardieu vertont hat.

Aber nicht nur die Stimme klingt vertraut: Wer genau hinsieht, erkennt in Bike Hard auch Spitzensportlerinnen aus Davos Klosters in Nebenrollen. So trifft Tom Oehler unterwegs auf die Ski-Abfahrtsweltmeisterin Jasmine Flury und öffnet ihr beim Vorbeifahren eine Flasche Bier elegant mit dem Hinterrad.
