“We have a healthy mix of corporate and entertainment,” says director Thomas Kastl about the current usage. It includes everything “from classic to rock and pop, large and small sporting events, up to ballet”. One example shows the flexibility: in 2021, the St. Jakobshalle Basel hosted the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships, and events like that truly need diverse spaces to host them.

A part of the St. Jakobshalle Basel’s emphasis lies on concerts. Recently the arena has been extended from 8,000 to 12,400 seats, so that the hall offers enough space for the concerts of international stars. Jüngst ist die Arena von 8.000 auf 12.400 Plätze erweitert worden, so dass die Halle beispielsweise Platz für Konzerte internationaler Stars bietet.
